In washing the disciple’s feet, Jesus sets for us a pattern of loving service, of humility, of bearing each other’s burdens. This kind of love is an active love. It means to share good times together, to rejoice with each other when life is going well. And it also means to support each other in difficult times. It means being servants to one another.
